Indications
Azmasol Inhaler is indicated for the treatment or prevention of bronchospasm in bronchial asthma and for reversible airway obstruction associated with bronchitis and emphysema. It may also be used to relieve attacks of acute dyspnea and can be taken prophylactically before exertion to prevent exercise-induced asthma.

Pharmacology
Salbutamol is a selective β2-adrenoceptor agonist. At therapeutic doses, it acts on the β2-adrenoceptors of bronchial smooth muscle with little or no action on the β1-adrenoceptors of cardiac muscle. Salbutamol provides short-acting bronchodilatation (4-6 hours) with a fast onset (within 5 minutes) in reversible airway obstruction. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the release of bronchoconstrictor mediators.
Dosage
Administer Salbutamol Inhaler by oral inhalation only. Shake well before each spray.
For relief of acute episodes of bronchospasm:
Adults: 1 or 2 puffs as necessary (maximum 8 puffs in 24 hours).
Children: Half the adult dose.
To prevent allergen- or exercise-induced bronchospasm:
Adults: 2 puffs 15 minutes prior to exercise or exposure to an allergen (maximum 2 puffs, up to 4 times a day).
Children: Half the adult dose.
Chronic therapy:
Adults: Up to 200 mcg (2 puffs) four times daily.
Children: Up to 200 mcg (2 puffs) four times daily.

Administration
Using an inhaler seems simple, but many patients do not know how to use it correctly. Follow these steps for effective use:
1. Remove the cap.
2. Shake the inhaler vigorously at least six times before each use.
3. If the inhaler is new or unused for a week, shake it well and release one puff into the air to ensure it works.
4. Exhale fully and hold the inhaler upright.
5. Place the actuator in your mouth between your teeth and close your lips around the mouthpiece.
6. Breathe in deeply and slowly through your mouth while pressing down firmly on the canister to release the medicine.
7. Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for at least 10 seconds or as long as comfortable.
8. If more than one puff is prescribed, wait 1 minute between puffs and repeat steps 4 to 7.
9. After use, replace the cap on the mouthpiece. Rinse your mouth with water after each treatment.
Check your technique in front of a mirror from time to time. If you see a white mist during inhalation, you may not be closing your lips properly or breathing in correctly. If this happens, repeat the procedure carefully from step 4.
Instructions for cleaning: Clean your inhaler at least once a week. Remove the canister and rinse the plastic actuator and cap in warm water; do not put the metal canister in water. Dry the actuator and cap thoroughly and gently replace the canister.
